Wool Clip members announce there will be no future Woolfest events but thank everyone who contributed so much over the years.
Hefted To Hill takes over the Small Ring at Woolfest 2019
Each year, the organisers of Woolfest aim to have something new in the Small Ring. In the past, it's been West House and the charity flowers, fashion shows from Central Europe and NEST!, created by The Wool Clip's own Jean Wildish and Maud Mercier. For 2019, this space is being taken over by the Northern Heartlands and its Hefted To Hill project.
Hefted To Hill explores the nous and the values that underpin family farming in the North Pennines. Working closely with seven farmers over the last year, writers and photographers reveal how these values shape the cultural landscape and contribute to biodiversity. Northern Heartlands presents a teaser of this work by artist/philosopher, Ewan Allinson and Wideyed photographers, Richard Glynn and Louise Taylor at Woolfest.
The exhibition continues throughout July in Forest-in-Teesdale, Teesdale and Stanhope, Weardale.For more information www.northernheartlands.org
